Forget-Me-Nots - Wimke Dekker, Ella Gijselhart, Wies de Wit
Forgets-Me-Nots puts emphasis on a creative way of re-thinking nature within Urban Public Spaces, like the sidewalk, and shows a typology/map on how residents of Amsterdam achieve this. The project is meant as an ode towards the different kinds of small green islands in the street and the way residents create those for themselves. It can also be seen as a small invitation and inspire other residents to join this creative way of making the city more green.
The publication is risoprinted and consists of 16 pages, it comes in a transparent bag that also contains a small envelope with Forget-me-nots seeds. The different pages could also serve as a poster because the publication is not bound. For this publication, we focused on elements of the sidewalk of Amsterdam. We specifically concentrated on facade gardens, canopy driplines and the movement of tile-flipping. We asked Wies de Wit to research and write an essay about the project.
