This book resulted from a study trip to Minsk in 2018. The artist made collages with photographs she had taken on the streets: the city’s imposing Soviet architecture on the one hand and elderly people with shopping bags on the other, which she found to be in odd contrast to each other. Dora Lionstone enhanced this juxtaposition by inverting the scales of people and buildings. She also hand-colored some street photographs in reminiscence of old Soviet postcards and included them in the book.
